dude I am like excited- even though I have no money- I want your exact setup!!!!! All I'm missing is the EVOgreen 20g itself, HKS 280 cams, ARP head bolts, Larger FMIC, BR Ported/coated stock manifold (although I'm wondering if my Borla one will work with it), and of course a Melon tune!!!!!! Where did you get your EvoGreen 20G? Is it a direct replacement or is a kit needed?

scott...your borla header is set up with the same exhaust flange as the stock turbo...should bolt right up. No need to get the buschur mani unless you want to change it...

I bought mine outright from forced performance for 1700 + 150 install kit for my evo8 and it came much quicker than the guys waiting on cores to be done but it still took 2 months roughly.
the turbo itself gave me about 35awhp over the stock turbo at the same boost with the same mods...not impressive on pump gas at all. However, I imagine that all changes with race gas, higher timing, boost and leaner AFR where the turbo gets to do it's thing.

Chris, did you have the HKS 280's, ported manifold, and FMIC before you put the FP green on?

Also, are you happy with the 280's? There's so much debate about going with those or the 272's with that type of turbo.

yes, the last thing I installed was the FP green and injectors, everything else was already on purpose so I could find out just how much horsepower it was worth on pump gas and that was 35awhp (weak as hell)
I love the 280's they pull all the way to 8k and want to go further.
DLL has shown 382awhp but most commonly ~ 375awhp area. althought that was in 95-105* weather. I might be a little better now in this 50* weather.
the HKS 280's do cause some occasional stalling but bumping up the idle rpm/timing helps reduce it to rare.
p.s. I hope you didn't mind me whoring out the banner, I like it

Thanks for the info man, I will likely be trying to build this same setup!!!! It just seems perfect for what I want in my car. And yes, I will either send you my ECU or do the email deal. I want YOUR tune.
The 280's sound like what I'd want, I wonder how much less HP the 272's would do. But I guess like you said you could fix the idle rate in the tune?
I just have to budget out for each part I'll need (now adding injectors as well) so I can realistically reach this goal sometime in the next few years lol.

I do e-mail flash tunes or road tunes...I don't do any canned tunes so I don't accept ECU's sent to me.
if you can put up with the occasional stall, get the 280's. If you can't, get the 272's and it'll be almost non existant and almost as powerful on the big end.

OK then I'll just buy the cable and we'll do the email tune that will work!!!
Now I just have to budget each part I need and see if I can get some nice discounts from my lone performance sponsor (ETS) on the intercooler, injectors and 02 housing. But after that comes the expensive stuff like THE TURBO lol.
bhhdahah that one rocks!!!! Well I have 37 other urls pointing to my personal site right now other than those banner ones, I'm working on getting an LLC and actually working on ACTUAL web consulting as I've been doing the design/development/seo/marketing for so long I'd rather just tell other people how to do it lol. But until then my 9-5 job is what pays the bills.

yep, it's hard to get away from a full time gig with benefits and there's something to be said about stability. currently my tuning is my only income, sometimes you hit a lick and coast and other times it's tight. you can tell when people get paid, that's for sure

I hear you man. My fulltime gig is our family's income and I'm putting my wife through college as well, PLUS we just bought our first house, so things are pretty tight. I make a good living, but bills just suck ass. The only one I don't mind paying is my car payment and my mortgage, because it's not just pissing money away. lol
Just waiting for one of my idea's to take off so I can be having my car sent places to be worked on and have a nice DD for time being. The day will come.
So what injectors did you go with? I'd have to be tuned for 91 or 92 octane as that's what we get out here

I'm running the PTE 680cc, they are fine for my setup on pump gas but if you want to run something like c16 race fuel and higher boost then I recommend the 780cc. Basically you want to run as small of an injector as you can to get the job done for the best fuel atomization. Lots of guys slap on 1000cc injectors for an evo9 turbo upgrade and have to deal with hard starts, poor driveability and gas mileage, don't make that mistake unless you're willing to sacrifice a bit.
eventually I'm going to be running meth/water so the 680cc should be fine since the meth I'm injecting is a fuel and I'll be leaning out the gasoline mixture. I'll have to keep an eye on IPW and do the conversion to see what the IDC is and make sure I'm under 100%.
If I'm near or over 100% then it's time to step up to a larger size.
